Rabbit’s Got The Gun
Bio

Rabbit’s Got The Gun, a Texas based band with a soulful and upbeat melodic rock vibe, was formed when a diverse group of extremely talented musicians realized their potential and began the creative process of blending their unique musical styles. Fused together from various walks of life, Kewaithian Freeman, Eris Xhakupi, Justin Baisden, Joe Atkinson, and Forris Massey incorporate a hypnotic, soul tinged rock resonance into each performance while lacing it with a surprise element that keeps the fans asking, “What are they going to do next?”…and what RGTG did next was incredible. They were chosen as a finalist out of 400 bands in the Rhapsody/Landshark Battle of the bands where they performed to a crowd of media spectators in October 2009. Furthermore, they have performed with national acts such as The Guess Who, who wrote and performed “American Woman” and Spoonfed Tribe who personally invited RGTG to play with them at the well-respected Ridglea Theater, where they previously headlined, and brought in a record number of fans. Ridglea Theater, home to many well-known music acts, has served as a spring board for RGTG to play at other large venues such as the Austin City Limits stage.

Early in their career, RGTG grabbed the attention of the local media. Fort Worth Weekly magazine wrote an article stating, “Though only a couple of months old, funk-metal quintet Rabbit’s Got the Gun is already established.” In another article, they went on to state, “They’re funky and melodic…from their amped-up original material to covers ranging from Gloria Gaynor to Radiohead, the band can do just about anything technically.” They also captured the ear of TCU Radio who invited them to play live on the air. Since then, KTCU has become a new home to RGTG. The band has recently been nominated as “New Artist of the Year” by The Fort Worth Weekly and are awaiting the results. They have also been added to the Armed Forces Entertainment roster where they are pending a tour date. They released their first ep in February 2010 and released the rough draft of their full length CD to their loyal fans in May 2010. Rabbit’s Got The Gun has proven to be an inspiring and innovative band who is creating a sonic uprising in the Dallas / Fort Worth metroplex while staying true to their humble, grass roots beginnings.
